How SO-XRF-A2 works
The SO-XRF-A2 inline batch / slurry analyser is a powerful tool that helps iron ore industry professionals measure mineralogy and ultra-low elemental composition in slurry form.
The analyser uses X-ray fluorescence (XRF) technology to shoot high-energy radiation at a sample, exciting the atoms and causing them to emit X-ray fluorescence radiation.
These fluorescent x-rays enter a detector and send electronic pulses to a preamp, which amplifies the signals and sends them to a Digital Signal Processor (DSP).
The DSP collects and digitises the x-ray events and sends the spectral data to the main CPU for processing.
The analyser is capable of measuring both mineralogy and ultra-low elemental composition directly on a process-stream, without the need for labour-intensive, time-consuming and potentially error-prone sampling.
It includes a combination of improved matrix material corrections and particle size corrections so that it can be used for a variety of applications without the need for regular re-calibration.
